SDNA news: Valentina Floris & Ben Foot: Internationally renowned artist, architect and designer, Ron Arad has invited his favourite musicians and friends to create unique work for Curtain Call, his 360° interactive installation showing throughout August at the Roundhouse.
As part of Curtain Call SDNA created Waking Dream a 360° audio visual experience exploring fleeting moments of intensely surreal dreaming, when lulled to sleep in transit.

Studio 75

Luna Nera artist and film maker Gilian McIver has launched Studio 75 in London. This is an artist run space for showcasing and presenting films, exhibitions and discussions. The website is www.studio75.org.uk

Studio 75 is the second artist run space headed by Luna Nera: the first being Loophole in Berlin (organised by Julian Ronnefeldt). Loophole is  former brothel in Neukolln; Studio 75 is a ground floor flat in a  council estate in Hackney.

Later in the year will be the London Luna Nera retrospective at studio 75, where you’ll see films and photos by and of Luna Nera.

Luna Nera in London

In 2011 Luna Nera’s full film programe, together with an exhibition of Luna Nera’s work, will be shown at Studio 75 in East London. The dates are not settled yet, but look for the show in mid 2011.

- Luna Nera (Gillian McIver, Valentina Floris, Ben Foot, Sandrine Albert, Natasha Mayran, Julian Ronnefeldt) formed in 1997 as a collective of artists, performers and film makers to create site specific projects in London and cities around the world. The films exhibited at TINAG are collaborations by Gillian McIver, Valentina Floris, Ben Foot and Julian Ronnefeldt. www.luna-nera.com

- Energie is by Enzo Perin, a video artist and  photographer. Born in Bremen, he is based in Berlin. www.lichtraum-berlin.de

- In Search of Hitler’s Bunker. Adrian Shepherd is a multidisciplinary artist based in Berlin, where he is involved in creating music (testcard), butoh dance (Satantango Dance) and visual art. www.adrianshephard.com

- Tout Bouge is a collaboration by Jessica Spalis, Dancer; Mark Arrigo, Film Director; Santiago Prado, Audio/Composer. Multi-instrumentalist Audio Engineer;Chris Jack, Audio/Composer. DJ Audio Engineer and Sonic Artist; Adam Aguiar, Audio/Composer, Electro-acoustic Music Composer, Performing Arts Director, Audio Engineer.

NAMASTIC ART COLLECTIVE Founded in Helsinki in 2006, Namastic Art Collective is a loose group of globally minded artists and curators who seek to initiate, organize and participate in meaningful projects and exhibitions on an international scale.

- Sari Palosaari (b.1974) is a Helsinki-based visual artist working with sculpture, installation and video. www.saripalosaari.com

- Anu Pennanen (b.1975) is an artist based in Berlin, Germany. She is interested in the public space and its possibilities to evoke shared narratives which momentarily escape the given conditions of spatial organization, urban architecture and modernization. www.anupennanen.com

- Teemu Mäki (b.1967) is an artist and professor in Aalto University, Helsinki, Finland. He works in the realms of art, philosophy and politics with various means. The results of these efforts usually belong to the categories of visual art, theater, literature or theory. www.teemumaki.com

- Jani Ruscica (b.1978) is an artist working with film, video, photography and other media. He is based in Helsinki and was educated at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London and at the Academy of Fine Art in Helsinki. www.janiruscica.com

- Sanna Maarit Kuittinen (b.1979) is an artist and filmmaker from Finland. She studied fine art and film in London, Canada and Finland. Her work often explores themes of identity, character, space and environment.

He has worked at galleries and museums of contemporary art in Helsinki (Kiasma) and Barcelona (MACBA)and is currently pursuing a MA in Curating at Aalto University in Helsinki. A screening by two artist/curator collectives working with moving images. Each work in a capital city that has a different artistic culture and population mix, a different attitude to the economic structures that support it, and a different way of living in the northern climate. Luna Nera aims to stimulate interest in the environmental and architectural heritage of localities. By asking the audience to re-look at sites in a new way, Luna Nera is concerned with exploring the conjunction of theory and practice in site-specific/site-responsive work, and invites dialogue between artists. Luna Nera presents their moving-image work, alongside selected works by artists based in London and Berlin.

Gillian McIver studied history and philosophy before starting out as a documentary film maker. Moving from Canada to London, she began to work with experimental and site specific film. She co-founded the Luna Nera group, where she has been artist and curator since 1997.

NAMASTIC ART COLLECTIVE Founded in Helsinki in 2006, Namastic Art Collective is a loose group of globally minded artists and curators who seek to initiate, organize and participate in meaningful projects and exhibitions on an international scale.

Selected and presented by Toni Ledentsa.

Toni Ledentsa is an independent curator and producer currently based in Helsinki. He has worked at galleries and museums of contemporary art in Helsinki (Kiasma) and Barcelona (MACBA) and taken part in art festivals around Europe. He is involved in a residency centre called Arcapacha in Colombia, and is currently pursuing a MA in Curating, Managing and Mediating Art at Aalto University in Helsinki. He is a founding member of Namastic Art Collective, and a firm believer in the transformative power of art.
